The port authority will install additional panels in the Vuosaari Harbour, on the roofs of the V6 and V7 buildings (307 in total), and atop West Terminal 2 (200).
The yield of the new power plants, to become operational by year-end, will be about 145 MWh per annum, corresponding to the yearly consumption of almost 100 residential building apartments or ten single-family detached homes.
Thanks to the investment, the Port of Helsinki expects to decrease its CO2 emissions by approx. 20kt/year.
The Finnish ports wants its operations to be 100% carbon-neutral by 2035.
