In total, the Finnish port took care of 1.88mt (+15.7% year-on-year), out of which imports accounted for 912.7kt (+21.1% yoy), exports - 906.7kt (+11.8% yoy), and cabotage - 64.4kt (+1.4% yoy).
With 1.45mt, the handling of liquid bulk rose by 127% year-on-year, followed by 727kt of containerized freight (-0.4% yoy), and 553kt of forest products (+13.6% yoy).
With 822,777 TEUs moved across the ports' quays, the country's container traffic managed to advance by 1.4% year-on-year, despite the coronavirus pandemic.
Whereas the turnover of liquid bulk contracted by 3.8% year-on-year to a total of 38.25mt, the handling of both dry bulk and general cargo rose, by 4.7% yoy and 17.5% yoy, respectively, to altogether 29.12mt and 1.74mt.
The turnover of liquid bulk noted the sharpest decline of 33.4% year-on-year to a total of 6.72mt, whereas grains - the biggest increase, of 189% yoy to 609.2kt.
