The port handled 140,681 TEU in export traffic (+8.7% year-on-year), 136,826 TEUs were imported (+8.3% yoy), whereas 863 TEUs were brought in domestically (+564% yoy).
Year 2017 brought new records for the Swedish port - in total freight traffic, the number of handled trucks & trailers, as well as served passengers and their cars.
The single biggest monthly year-on-year increase was noted in January, when a total of 21,249 TEU was handled, more by 56.3% on the corresponding 2016 result.
The Lithuanian seaport marked a new all-time high in cargo handlings last year, particularly owing this to dry bulk turnover which rose by 15.8% year-on-year to 19.24mt.
The two Polish ports noted in 2017 their best ever freight handling record, owing this to higher turnover of general cargo (incl. ferry, containerised, and timber), liquids, ore, and other dry bulk.
