The Port of Gdynia is seeking co-financing for its plans to build a brand-new approx. €29.5m worth intermodal terminal.

The port authority counts on getting as much as €14.6m from the European Union, which in turn would make it possible to turn 30 ha of land - located next to the port's two container terminals, BCT Terminal Gdynia and GCT - into a two track, 650 m long each, terminal.

The facility, able to take care of 2-3mtpa, would also comprise a railway siding, as well as storage and manoeuvring areas.

If the project receives the green light, then the construction works will start in Q2 2019. Operations across the new terminal could commence in 2020.
