The Agent Portal enables agents and vessels to access real-time information and directly book port calls.
At the same time, the Billing Management module captures a timestamp of all billable port activities that can be integrated into existing financial systems to generate accurate invoices automatically.
"A significant number of the world's ports don't have a digital port management solution today. By digitalising the port ecosystem, our technology connects stakeholders with a comprehensive live view of operations and empowers them to dynamically optimise efficiency and emissions," Stuart Darling, Senior Vice President of ION's Software group, underlined.
He furthered, "These two new developments demonstrate our close client collaboration to understand operations and how best to target improvements for the biggest impact. I would like to thank the British Ports Association for showcasing our work, and our clients, Montrose Port Authority and CalMac Ferries, for promoting the positive impact Marlin SmartPort has had on their operations."
The British Ports Association has recently featured ION's Marlin SmartPort in its Gateways to Growth programme, which highlights ports' vital contribution to society, along with the innovations shaping their pathways to net-zero emissions.
In 2020, the Scottish ferry operator & port managing enterprise CalMac Ferries entrusted the Edinburgh-based tech company to provide it with a port management information system. Also last year, the Montrose Port Authority in Scotland switched from manual operations to Marlin SmartPort.
