CargoBeamer and DB Cargo France will launch a new container & trailer rail service (incl. P400s, reefers, and tank) between Kaldenkirchen and Perpignan on 10 January 2022.

Initially, the trains will make three weekly round trips, up to five from mid-February.

"With the expansion of the service in Perpignan, we not only serve the southern French market, but also position ourselves in the direction of northern Spain with the strong transport region around Barcelona," Matthias Schadler, Managing Director Intermodal Operations, CargoBeamer, said.

He added, "Furthermore, the addition of another route is also an important step forward for the location of Kaldenkirchen, where we plan to start constructing our own transshipment terminal soon."

The new Franco-German route is the company's sixth connection, out of which five were added to the network in the past six months.
