Two sto-ro vessels, Lysvik Seaways and Lysbris Seaways, have been purchased by GodbyShipping and leased back to DFDS for at least three years.
The sideport ships will retain their flags and crews, sailing between Norway, the UK, and continental Europe.
Lysvik Seaways (constructed in 1997) and Lysbris Seaways (1998) have to date been mainly transporting forest products on behalf of Norske Skog. The vessels can also handle containers and ro-ro cargo units.
The 129 by 18 m sister ships are equipped with two automatic Mongstad sideloading systems and six electrical forklift trucks.
GodbyShipping took over Lysvik Seaways in December 2021, while Lysbris Seaways the following month.
