With the help of CargoNet and Nurminen Logistics, the Norwegian Port of Narvik will set up a twice a month route linking it with the Haparanda-Tornio Swedish-Finnish border crossing.
The service is due for launch in late April 2022. CargoNet will be responsible for the Norway-through-Sweden rail leg, while Nurminen Logistics for freight forwarding within Finland.
Meanwhile, Norway's rail infrastructure manager Bane NOR is upgrading the Port of Norvik's rail freight terminal to handle 100k TEUs/year.
