The Korean Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and the Danish developers of the compact molten salt reactor (CMSR) technology have partnered to manufacture and sell turn-key floating nuclear power plants.
The CMSR barges will offer 200 to 800 MW of power over a 24-year lifetime.
The partnership also includes working together on hydrogen and ammonia production plants for connecting them with the floating nuclear power plants.
"We are honoured and proud to have formed this partnership with Samsung Heavy Industries, one of the world's largest and most experienced shipyards. It is another step forward in our quest to introduce a new generation of nuclear reactors that are clean and safe and can be built using industrial technology with all the benefits of scalability, speed, and lower costs," Troels Schönfeldt, CEO and Co-Founder of Seaborg, said.
