Precisely one century ago, on 23 September 1922, the Polish parliament decided that a brand-new seaport was to be set up - turning a small fishing village into what is today one of the Baltic's biggest seaports.
The port authority celebrated the date by presenting The Constructors of Gdynia Port commemorative bench next to the Harbour Master's Office. It shows Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski, the initiator of building the port in Gdynia, and Tadeusz Wenda, the engineer who chose the location and supervised the construction works.
Happy centenary!
