International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI) has won the tender for leasing the 60 ha on which Baltic Container Terminal Gdynia runs its operations in the Port of Gdynia.
Consequently, ICTSI has prolonged its presence in Poland, where the company has been active since 2003.
BCT Gdynia is Poland's first sea container terminal, originally launched in October 1979. The facility offers 1.0m of TEU yearly capacity and 800 m of 12.7 m deep quay wall, served by six ship-to-shore cranes and two Liebherr LHM 400 mobile harbour cranes (frequently used for taking care of project cargo, including components for wind energy farms).
BCT Gdynia also operates a nearby rail terminal (three 670 m long tracks) and a marshalling yard (seven 1,000 m long tracks). The terminal also offers roofed and open-air storage options.
