The Danish shipping & logistics company has purchased 100% of the Estron Group's share capital, a Dutch road transport and warehousing provider based in Rotterdam.
The 130-employee-strong Estron Group transports dry goods in trailers by road and ferry, mainly between the UK, Germany, Benelux, and Poland. Full- and part-load transports are provided using a leased fleet of 300 trailers (haulage is subcontracted).
Warehousing, cross-docking, and logistics services are provided from a 58k m2 leased warehouse in the Port of Rotterdam.
Closing of the takeover is expected in Q3 2023, with the transaction not subject to regulatory approval.
"The acquisition of Estron Group expands and enhances our road and ferry transport network connecting continental Europe and the UK. Our offering of warehousing and logistics services to especially our Dutch customers is also greatly improved," said Niklas Andersson, Executive Vice President and Head of the Logistics Division at DFDS.
