The first shipment of 500t of the lower-emission marine fuel has been brought to Södertälje and is offered for bunkering.
In producing Neste Marine 0.1 - ISO 8217-compliant and ISCC PLUS-certified - crude oil is partly replaced with renewable raw materials.
According to the Finnish manufacturer, the renewable part of the co-processed bunker enables up to 80% lower greenhouse gas emissions over the fuel's life cycle than fossil fuel.
Neste Marine 0.1 is also available in Denmark and Finland.
"We already have several interested clients, and we look forward to start delivering the co-processed DMA in which crude oil is partly replaced with renewable raw materials. This is one of many key steps in ScanOcean's journey to build a portfolio of sustainable products and services. The new lower-emission DMA is an extremely attractive fuel in this respect," Jonatan Karlström, Managing Director at ScanOcean, commented.
Sveta Ukkonen, Head of Marine Fuels & Services at Neste, added, "I am proud that we now have solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions also in Neste's marine fuel portfolio. We are very pleased that our long-term partner ScanOcean is offering our lower-emission marine fuel to shipping companies bunkering in Sweden."
