The Danish heavy-duty road haulage company from Hjørring has decided to expand its area of activity in the also Danish seaport by 14.4 thousand square metres to 25k m2.
The agreement follows the increased demand for disposal, sorting, and recycling of construction waste.
The establishment of the new site is expected to be completed this summer.
"We are pleased with the agreement, which helps us future-proof our business. The area will help meet the high demand for handling construction waste such as soil, sand and concrete that can all be recycled elsewhere," commented Per Nielsen, Owner of Anker Christensen Eftf.
He furthered, "With our location, we have a strategically good site for our type of business. From here, we are able to service customers in Aalborg and the surrounding area, while we also have great logistical conditions for our transportation. For example, in the future, we expect to import resources such as granite and crushed stone, which in principle can be shipped directly to Aalborg."
Jeppe Faber, the Port of Aalborg's Senior Commercial Manager - Real Estate, also underlined, "Supporting the growth of local partners is a central part of our existence. Therefore, we are pleased that a relatively new player in the area is experiencing such good development that there is a need for expanding after a short time here [Anker Christensen Eftf. has taken care of waste, soil treatment, and concrete crushing at Aalborg's East Port since 2022]. This confirms that we have a solid framework for handling and accommodating most activities - whether it's waste management, wind turbine production or CO2 receiving facilities."
