The 2006-built (by the Dutch Ferus Smit) Carelie has joined the fleet of the Finnish shipping line, offering 7,931 cubic metres of cargo space across two box-shaped and double skinned holds (also fitted for carrying up to 242 TEUs).
The 110.78 by 14 metres, 3,990 gross tonnage vessel has the 1A Ice Class and flies the Finnish flag.
"With a larger vessel size, we are preparing for the arrival of our newbuildings in the same size category. The increase in batch sizes is a long-term trend and also a step towards environmental efficiency. Carelie is the fourth time-chartered vessel from our close partners Rederi Ab Nathalie," said Beppe Rosin, CEO of Meriaura.
