The first blades got transported from the company's factory to the 400 thousand square metre-yard, which the Port of Aalborg was developing in its East Harbour since 2023.
"The preparation has included bringing in huge amounts of sand and granite chippings - to ensure that the former farmland can withstand the load of the huge blades - as well as establishing new infrastructure and erecting fencing all around," the Danish seaport underlined on its LinkedIn profile.
The port's CEO, Kristian Thulesen Dahl, added, "Siemens Gamesa's commissioning of the blade site is further proof that the wind energy industry is growing rapidly in Aalborg. And we are both pleased and proud to see the result of several years of close collaboration with Siemens Gamesa, which is one of the companies driving growth here in the port area."
