Ferus Smit's shipyard in Westerbroek saw the launch of Kolland, the fifth in a series of six freighters designed for trading through the Trollhätte Canal en route between the open sea and Swedish interior lakes.
Erik Thun's Kolland is of the mk 4 version, meaning she has a nozzled propeller, reduced engine output, a battery pack, optimised bulb form & transom shape, and closed bridge wings.
The Ice Class 1B, 89-metre-long, 13.35-m-wide, 5,100-tonne-deadweight vessel offers 206 thousand cubic feet (just over 5.8k m3) of carrying capacity spread across two cargo holds.
