The Polish seaport has started erecting a new intermodal terminal in its western part, scheduled to come online in H2 2026 and serve both commercial and military needs.
The €16.4 million investment (supported by the EU Connecting Europe Facility with nearly €8.21m) will see the setup of 2.73 kilometres of new rail tracks, 30 thousand square metres of yard space, and a loading ramp suitable for handling military gear (up to 120 tonnes).
Responsible for carrying out the construction work is the NDI Group, which has already reconstructed the local district heating to make way for erecting the primary facility.
