A four-chamber flat storage warehouse of the Baltic Grain Terminal (BGT) has burnt down in the Gdynia port.
The fire broke out on the morning of 5 March and lasted several hours before the fire fighting brigades put it out not long before noon.
While the 30kt-big warehouse was destroyed, along with the equipment, the fire didn't spread onto adjacent facilities.
Most probably the fire was due to spontaneous combustion. A mix of soy and wheat was being stored when the incident occurred.
The four-chamber warehouse accounted for around 42% of BGT's storing capacity.
