The Chinese Lingang Group is working on a 76,000 m2-big site, intending to attract logistics companies serving the e-commerce, automotive, and food sectors.
The park, scheduled for completion by August 2022, will be divided into ten units. The facility will also comprise a 22,000 m2 container yard, and a waiting area and a drop-off zone for trucks.
The deal also includes an option for Lingang to develop another 15 ha within the Port of Zeebrugge.
"The Port of Zeebrugge has many similarities with the Yangshan Deep Water Port in Shanghai, where we developed a similar logistics platform 10 years ago. Both are real gateways where such an investment can facilitate deep sea volume growth," Jie Hu, Lingang Overseas Belgium's CEO, highlighted.
