The company's ferry Isabelle (room for 2,480 passengers, 850 lane metres of freight capacity) left Tallinn on 11 Friday 2022, heading to Turku Repair Yard for maintenance and upgrades.
The drydocking will include replacing the propulsion shaft seals, maintaining shell valves, pumps and coolers, replacing stabilizers' ball bearings and seals, and installing a ballast water treatment system.
The maintenance will end on 25 February 2022, after which Isabelle will sail to her homeport in Riga. As of 6 April 2022, she will start plying between the Latvian and Swedish capitals, with departures taking place every other day.
"Isabelle has now been away from its home, the Port of Riga, and regular Riga-Stockholm route for the extended COVID-19 pandemic period since March of 2020. We are excited that following the vessel's planned docking in Finland, Isabelle can set sail at long-last for its homeport of Riga," Capt. Tarvi-Carlos Tuulik, Head of Ship Management, Tallink Grupp, commented.
He furthered, "Both the vessel and its crew are looking forward to the re-opening of our popular Riga-Stockholm route just in time for the start of the spring and summer high season, confidently in good shape for the delight of our Latvian and Swedish customers who can, once again, enjoy the much-missed short cruise breaks on the beautiful Baltic Sea."
