The Polish ferry company will deploy the ro-pax Nova Star on the route in question at the break of March and April.

The 161 m long and 25.6 m wide, 2011-built ship offers 2,790 lane metres of cargo capacity and room for 1,215 passengers.

Up-to-date, Polferries' Gdańsk-Nynäshamn route was served by the 1980-commissioned ro-pax Wawel (1,490 lm/1,000 pax).

Most recently, Nova Star was chartered by the Moroccan Inter Shipping, plying between Algeciras and Tangier.
