The Spanish Windar Renovables and the Port of Szczecin-Świnoujście have ratified the October 2023-signed preliminary land concession agreement.
The company will now establish an offshore wind energy tower production centre in the Port of Szczecin. The factory and its storage area will occupy 17 ha.
The towers produced by Windar Renovables in Szczecin will be designed to support the new generation turbines with 20MW of installed capacity.
"Windar Renovables' capacity at its several locations [13 production centres in Spain, Mexico, Brazil, and India] also allows it to offer all the structures for supporting offshore wind towers, including foundations, jackets and XXL monopiles, as well as transition pieces. By adding the product it will manufacture in Szczecin to its offer, it will provide its customers with the most complete range on the world market," said the Spanish manufacturer in a press brief.
