Equinor and Polenergia have ordered 100 units of the SG 14-236 DD turbines, each with a capacity of 14.4MW, the largest turbines manufactured by Siemens Gamesa to date.
The order also includes - apart from the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of the 100 wind turbines - their maintenance and warranty service.
The Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III offshore wind energy (OWE) farms are scheduled to come online in 2027.
Bałtyk I, another project of Equinor and Polenergia off the Polish coast, will deliver 1,560MW.
Michał Jerzy Kołodziejczyk, Equinor's Country Manager in Poland, underlined:
[...] We want to bring the best available renewable technologies to the Polish market, building a modern offshore wind power sector. Our goal is to provide Poland with clean energy from renewable sources based on the leading, most efficient solutions [...].
