The Spain-based CYES Maritime Works will be responsible for carrying out a project the aim of which is to double the yearly handling capacity of Yilport's container terminal in the Swedish seaport.

The construction works are planned to commence this November and continue till end-2019. Thanks to the SEK700m (approx. EUR 70m) investment, Gävle will have the possibility to take care of up to 600k TEUs per year.

The modernisation project was also recently adjusted to incorporate wide-span ship-to-shore cranes, that will be able to perform around 30 lifts per hour across wider vessels, instead of wide-spread gantries.
