The dry bulk operator has taken over a 26k m2-big, 12.5 m-tall, and fitted with six overhead cranes property that earlier served as a gas pipeline coating facility.
After modifications, it'll serve as a storage for non-bulk products.
The company expects to start operating the new facility at the beginning of 2021.
"The investment supports and allows us to further develop our range of services for our customer base in Southern Finland. The property as well as the related land areas and railways are strategically located in one of Finland’s leading ports," Joakim Laxåback, Managing Director, Rauanheimo, commented.
Thanks to this and other investments, Rauanheimo eyes increasing its cargo handling business in the Port of HaminaKotka's Mussalo Harbour from 1.0mt to 3.0mt/year.
