On the other hand, fewer passengers decided to travel with the ferry company in the reported period, down by 7.5% year-on-year to a total of 4,967,745.
In addition, the company's fleet transported some 114k vehicles (excl. passenger cars in ferry traffic) in the reported period, up by 12.9% year-on-year.
However, the increase would fall to +5.6% year-on-year to a total of 588.1k TEU if the company's joint ventures, Moby Dik and the Multi-Link terminals in Helsinki and Kotka, were added.
The container volumes that go through the country's ports are evenly split between imports (+1.5% year-on-year to 412,543 TEUs) and exports (+1.4% yoy to 408,541 TEUs).
Both the turnover of liquids and dry bulk went down, by 13.2% year-on-year to 5.73mt and by 35.8% yoy to 2.91mt, respectively, while the handling of general cargo advanced by 9.5% yoy to 1.36mt.
