Alike in the case of the entire container rail traffic in Russia, the company noted the sharpest increase on its transit services, up by 36.2% year-on-year to a total of 72.7k TEU.
A total of 2.7mt was transported over the Sound with the use of the ferry service between the Swedish Helsingborg and the Danish Helsingør, more by 7.1% on the H1 2017 result.
Transit traffic, incl. New Silk Road volumes, continues to note the highest tempo of growth - up by 28.5% on the H1 2017 result to a total of 227.4k TEU.
At the same time, the number of ferry and cruise travellers that went through the port’s quays rose in the first half of this year – up by 5.5% year-on-year to 964,604 passengers.
The Swedish seaports of Halmstad and Varberg, operating within one authority, exported 567kt of goods in the reported period (+3.5% year-on-year) and imported some 562kt (+9.8% yoy).
