The all-electric passenger-car ferry, put together by the Turkish Cemre Shipyard for the Danish Alslinjen (a subsidiary of Molslinjen), has arrived in the Baltic and will enter traffic on 16 June 2025.
The 116.8-m long ferry offers room for 600 passengers and 188 vehicles. Initially set to sail between Fynshav and Bøjden, Nerthus will serve Samsølinjen's crossing between Ballen and Kalundborg this summer.
Nerthus features technology for automatic docking as well as for charging its 3.1MWh battery system (supplied by Echandia).
Cemre Shipyard is also constructing Tyrfing, a sister ship originally destined for the Ballen-Kalundborg link (as the service is longer than Fynshav-Bøjden, she'll have a bigger battery pack of 3.8MWh).
