CINEA has selected the project - a joint proposal by the Municipality of Norrköping and the ports of Norrköping and Södertälje - to proceed to the final grant agreement phase within the EU's Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility.
The €10.6 million initiative, with €3.17m support from the EU, will see the installation of five onshore power supply (OPS) points in the Port of Norrköping, purchase of an electric reachstacker together with a charging station, erecting a new transformer station, and setup of a photovoltaic (PV) system.
The Port of Södertälje will also get an OPS (in the South Harbour for ro-ro traffic) and an e-reachstacker with a charging station. The electrical grid will be upgraded, including with a 2.0MWh battery storage (in the Energy Harbour) linked to the seaport's PV farm.
