While the Estonia-Finland area grew by 1.8% year-on-year to 3.61 million ferry travellers, Finland-Sweden lost 2.4% yoy down to 1.38m and Estonia-Sweden marked a decrease of 12.5% yoy to 542.5 thousand.

Apart from its new all-time freight high, the company's ferries also served 4,608,573 travellers last year, a 0.8% downtick vs the 2024 result.

Whereas ro-ro & ferry traffic, the Estonian seaport's main trade, contracted by 2.1% year-on-year to 6.43 million tonnes, other cargo segments advanced, most notably liquid bulk - by 46.7% yoy to 2.0mt.

Tonnage-wise, the Swedish seaport took care of 1.1 million tonnes of containerised freight, up 5.3% year-on-year.

Both the handling of liquid bulk and general cargo increased, by 16.9% year-on-year to 2.36mt and by 17.5% yoy to 935kt, respectively.

The company's facilities in the Port of Hamburg took care of nearly 4.55m TEUs (+6.0% year-on-year), while the terminals in Estonia, Italy, and Ukraine added the remaining 250 thousand 20-footers (+22.5% yoy).

Whereas ro-ro & ferry cargo traffic, Tallinn's prime trade, contracted by 4.5% year-on-year to 4.81 million tonnes, all other freight groups noted advances, including the sharpest of 32.9% yoy in liquid bulk turnover to 1.36mt.

"Our ro-ro fleet rationalisation and investments made in passenger traffic formed the basis of the satisfactory nine-month result. Passenger revenue grew with €7.2 million, reaching a record high of €89.5 million passenger business turnover," commented Thomas Doepel, President and CEO.

Counting 18 metres per ro-ro cargo unit, the company's shipping division carried nearly 1.74 million trucks & trailers January-through-September this year.

Measured in tonnes, the Finnish capital seaport took care of 2.8 million tonnes of containerised freight over 2025's first three quarters, up 9.0% year-on-year.
